Kindness That Remains
Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.
Proverbs 3:3–4 NLT
People may forget your name, but they will remember how you made them feel in your presence. A kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or a willingness to be helpful can become a memorable experience for someone who needed to be seen and cared for.
God says loyalty and kindness should be part of our character. They are not qualities we reserve for easy days or people who can repay us. They are to be tied around our necks as reminders and written deep within our hearts. In other words, they are meant to be visible in our lives and rooted in who we are.
Kindness grows through practice. As you routinely choose patience over irritation, encouragement over criticism, and helpfulness over indifference, kindness becomes more than something you do. It becomes part of who you are. Over time, people begin to recognize a reputation for doing good.
For the believer, kindness is more than good manners. It reflects the heart of God. Our loyalty to God and His ways teaches us how to treat people with the love and grace we have received from Him. When kindness is rooted deeply in our hearts, we are prepared to carry it into ordinary conversations, difficult relationships, and unexpected moments.
Today, ask the Lord to help you make someone’s day lighter. Your act may seem small, but God can use it to remind another person that they are valued. As you remain loyal to Him and intentional in kindness, you will find favor with God and with people.
Reflections
Who in your life may need a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or practical help today? Consider the reputation your daily choices are forming. What would it look like to let loyalty to God shape the way you make others feel in your presence?
Prayer
Father, thank You for Your kindness toward me. Write loyalty and kindness deeply within my heart so they become part of my character, not just occasional actions. Help me speak words that encourage, notice needs I can meet, and show Your love in practical ways. Keep me loyal to You and Your ways, and let my life reflect the goodness of Jesus to everyone I encounter. In Jesus Name, Amen.
